Automotive Lecturer (PN)

Overview Vocational Education Teacher, Postsecondary — Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday). Location: Manawatū Campus, Palmerston North. Application closes 15 Jul 2026. We are seeking an industry specialist to bring their passion for the Automotive Industry and contribute to transforming lives through education, preparing students for a career in the industry and delivering value to the region. The role involves discussing and demonstrating topics related to automotive engineering, including volume measurement, drivelines, and charging systems. Responsibilities Facilitate one-on-one learning and mentoring; lead workshops and work with students both individually and in groups; build strong rapport and communicate effectively. Demonstrate and discuss automotive topics (e.g., volume measurement, drivelines, starting a charging system) and related components. Contribute to student development and ensure alignment with regional industry needs; support student outcomes through hands-on instruction. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of NZC in Automotive Engineering L4 (or equivalent Trade or Advanced Trade Certification). An Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (NZCALNE) and/or NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCAT) and/or Unit 4098 Work Based Assessor, or be working toward these.
