Plastics Technician - Extrusion

Job Category: Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics About the Role Our Hamilton plant is a leading manufacturer of polyethylene pipes, and we are looking for Plastics Technicians – Extrusion to join our team. Experience with plastic extrusion would be beneficial; however, we are willing to train and develop candidates who have the willingness to learn. Key Accountabilities Setting up, monitoring, calibrating and tuning all extrusion lines. Operating extrusion equipment to manufacture polyethylene solid‑walled pipe between 063 and 1000 mm diameter. Troubleshooting faults and identifying causes of manufacturing defects. Machine maintenance. Quality Assurance. Attributes (Essential) Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment. Plastic extrusion experience will be beneficial. Mechanical aptitude and technical capacity. Strong work ethic and reliability. Current full driver's license. Forklift license with F endorsement would be advantageous. Commitment to Health & Safety. Current Shift Pattern Night shift Monday to Thursday 6.00pm – 6.00am, 48 hours per week. Our current manufacturing site in Te Rapa will be relocating to a new purpose‑built facility at Titanium Park Hamilton Airport. Following the relocation, the shift pattern will transition to a rotating 24x5 roster, 40 hours per week. Applicants for this position should have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
