Associate, Environment and Planning

Associate – Environment and Planning Aurecon is a leading design, engineering and advisory company seeking an experienced Associate Planner to join our team in Auckland. The role specialises in infrastructure projects, including water‑related consenting under NewZealand legislation. What you’ll do Provide exceptional planning advice and technical support to obtain resource consents and approvals for clients as part of a planning team. Engage with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities to define scope, deliverables and timelines, and then achieve these milestones. Prepare, review and approve resource consent applications and supporting technical analysis. Ensure project work complies with relevant legislation and company policies. Mentor junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement as a key member of the Environment and Planning team. Support and manage budgeting, resource planning, risk assessment and business‑development activities, including contributing to winning work and developing client relationships. What you’ll bring Bachelor’s degree in planning or an equivalent qualification. Full or associate membership of the NewZealand Planning Institute (or equivalent). Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in NewZealand planning projects, specifically in the three waters space. Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
