Job Description
Ashveer Transport Limited is seeking a highly motivated Fleet Manager to manage operations at our company in the Auckland Region in a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week. The employee may work up to 40 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and play a key role in the organisation. Key Responsibilities Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the company's taxi and passenger transport fleet. Monitor fleet utilisation, vehicle availability, and operational performance to ensure efficient service delivery and maximise productivity. Develop and implement vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs, servicing, inspections, registrations, licensing, and certifications. Ensure all company vehicles comply with New Zealand transport regulations, safety requirements, insurance obligations, and passenger service licence conditions. Monitor and maintain records relating to vehicle registrations, Certificates of Fitness (CoF), Road User Charges (RUC), fuel usage, maintenance history, and fleet performance. Coordinate driver rosters, vehicle allocations, shift scheduling, and operational coverage to meet customer demand and service requirements. Recruit, train, supervise and support drivers and operational staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and service standards. Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, customer complaints, and operational issues and implement corrective actions where required. Monitor driver performance, attendance, safety practices, and compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Analyse operational data, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, vehicle downtime, and utilisation rates and prepare management reports. Liaise with vehicle suppliers, repair workshops, insurance providers, regulatory authorities, and other service providers regarding fleet operations. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve fleet efficiency, passenger safety, customer satisfaction, and cost management. Manage fleet-related budgets, approve expenditure for maintenance and repairs, and identify opportunities for operational cost savings. Coordinate the introduction of new vehicles, fleet upgrades, vehicle replacement programmes, and technology systems used for dispatching and fleet tracking. Ensure all health and safety obligations relating to fleet operations are met and promote safe driving practices across the organisation. Flexible to work on weekends.
