CQUniversity is seeking experienced Diesel Fitters and Heavy Automotive professionals to train apprentices and shape the next generation of tradespeople. As a TAFE Teacher , you will mentor, guide and influence future tradespeople, delivering practical, hands‑on training across heavy vehicle, mobile plant and diesel fitting disciplines. Responsibilities Under a structured Vocational Education and Training (VET) workload model you will work 36.25 hrs/week (full‑time), which includes teaching, preparation, marking and student support. Your typical schedule will feature 22 hrs/week of teaching, up to 25 hrs by agreement, with no more than 9 teaching hours in a day. All preparation and marking are paid hours and not performed in your own time. Flexible working hours support personal, family and carer responsibilities where possible. Demonstrated current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being delivered. Willingness to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (fully funded), or currently hold TAE40110 or higher. Knowledge of the education and training sector and the ability to positively respond to new directions of the training market.
