Abbeyfield Whangarei is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation providing affordable, family-style living that offers company and support for older people who are also independent. Residents live in their own rooms, share meals and are supported by a small team of paid staff, while the governance of the home is provided by local volunteers. Requirements Important to live in close proximity of the house, situated in Kensington Comfortable being part of the Executive Committee and attending monthly meetings Warm, practical, steady under pressure and able to work with empathy for older adults Available on a flexible basis. A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role. Time commitment Monthly committee meetings approximately 2 hours, held once a month.
