Job Description
Overview Based at Whakatane Hospital, this is a fixed‑term, part-time position. The Radiology department is seeking a permanent Sonographer with excellent scanning and time‑management skills to join a busy team. The role is 12 months long, with 20 hours per week. Responsibilities Supported by qualified Radiologists and Sonographers, the successful applicant will perform acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, vascular and community referrals. Responsibilities include maintaining a high standard of patient care, communicating effectively, and working efficiently within the department. Location Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty serves a population of approximately308,000 across Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. The role is based in Whakatāne Hospital. Qualifications NZ Registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist with a sonography qualification recognised by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board is essential. General DMU/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent. Ideally skilled in vascular and musculo‑skeletal ultrasound. Computer literate. Proactive, efficient working practices.
