Social Worker Paediatric Community: Permanent Fulltime Would you like to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to make a difference to health outcomes for tamariki and their whanau? This is a great opportunity to provide social work interventions in a supportive environment. About the Role The Social Worker Paediatric Community works closely with medical and nursing staff to support tamariki and their whanau who require support through health social work. Assessments and interventions are usually short‑term, with referrals to community agencies and health providers for any longer‑term needs. Special interest areas include: Supporting tamariki and whanau with long‑term chronic health conditions such as diabetes. Supporting developmental needs such as ASD. Supporting families of children with a cancer diagnosis as part of an oncology MDT. The Social Worker is part of a community child health team and has strong links with other services and staff across the health campus, including the inpatient ward. About the Team / Service / Location The Social Worker Paediatric Community is based at the Child and Adolescent Community Centre but is expected to travel across the region to support referred clients. About You Registered with the Social Work Registration Board and hold a current APC. Hold a full, clean driver’s licence. Have experience working with Tamariki and whanau.
