Job Overview Exciting opportunity for a Youth Justice Social Worker. Full time, permanent role located in Hastings. Remuneration $81,206- $97,557 based on experience. About the Role As a Social Worker, you will build high‑trust and positive relationships with rangatahi and provide a supportive environment that promotes their well‑being while working to prevent them from entering the formal Youth Justice system. You will collaborate with rangatahi, their whānau, police and community support services to address underlying factors that contribute to the risk of offending. Responsibilities Build and maintain high‑trust relationships with rangatahi. Deliver support and services that promote the well‑being of rangatahi. Partner with rangatahi, whānau, police and community services to address risk factors and reduce offending. Support rangatahi in achieving personal goals, connecting with culture and improving relationships with whānau, hapū, iwi and the wider community. What You Will Bring Passion for working with youth and building positive outcomes for rangatahi. Strong social work assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent relationship‑building, written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to bi‑cultural practice and a culturally responsive approach, including a good understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Social Worker qualification with SWRB registration and a current annual practicing certificate. Full New Zealand clean driver’s licence.
