70 Vaughan Road, Lynmore, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand Role Overview The Open Spaces Operations team is seeking a Dedicated Cleaning Operator to maintain Rotorua's public spaces, council facilities, and community assets. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the CBD, council‑owned buildings (libraries, offices, community centres), and public amenities. Operate road sweepers and other cleaning equipment to keep streets spotless. Respond to urgent cleaning requests and assist in preparing for community events. Assist with general grounds and open‑space maintenance when required. Follow safe work practices, manage cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly. Interact professionally with residents, council staff, contractors, and community groups. Qualifications Experience in cleaning or janitorial roles. Sound knowledge of safe chemical use. Full driver’s licence. Preferred certificate in Cleaning Operations or equivalent. Advantageous qualifications in health and safety, first aid, or grounds maintenance.
