Join New Zealand's largest academic tertiary hospital: National Women’s Health (NWH). This fixed term, part‑time role will cover extended leave starting June. Opportunity Obstetric Medicine (Maternal Medicine) integrates care by obstetric physicians specialized in internal medicine with a multidisciplinary team to provide care for women with medical problems in pregnancy or who develop medical complications. The only formal full‑time accredited training position for Obstetric Medicine in New Zealand, with certification issued by the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ). Responsibilities Provide acute clinical assessment of inpatient care for women with a wide range of medical disorders in pregnancy. Participate in teaching sessions with obstetric medicine registrars. Assist with evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for conditions including diabetes, cardiac, haematological, respiratory, renal, hepatobiliary, oncological and neurological disorders, and obstetric‑related conditions such as preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and cholestasis of pregnancy. Qualifications Proven experience in all aspects of investigative and therapeutic Obstetric medicine. Appropriate specialist qualification for this role.
