RMO Unit Administrator – Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital (Permanent, Part-time, 64 hours per fortnight, 0.8 FTE) You’ll be at the centre of a fast‑moving, high‑impact team that supports both medical students and RMOs — the future of our medical workforce. About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a detail‑oriented, organised and proactive Administrator to support our RMO Unit team. In this fast‑paced role, you’ll be responsible for providing administrative and functional assistance to support the effectiveness and efficient operation of the RMO Unit and the RMO Workforce. You’ll be joining an existing team of coordinators, so being a team player is a must. About the Team / Service / Location You will be part of the RMO Unit based at Hawkes Bay Hospital, working alongside a team that supports our Resident Medical Officers—doctors in training who deliver essential medical services across the hospital. The RMO Unit manages recruitment, rosters, workforce planning, administration, and ongoing support for RMOs. It’s a busy, collaborative environment where no two days are the same, and where your contribution helps the smooth running of both student placements and our wider medical workforce pipeline. About You You’re a self‑motivated, energetic and solutions‑focused administrator who enjoys staying one step ahead in a busy, ever‑changing environment. You bring strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and exceptional interpersonal skills. You will ideally have: 2+ years’ experience in an administration role An understanding of high‑level clerical and administration principles Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel Excellent typing and data accuracy skills Ability to work autonomously while thriving as part of a team Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Cultural competence or a commitment to developing confidence in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori Experience contributing to initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in healthcare administration and be part of a team that values professionalism, equity and continuous improvement.
