Mō te tūƦanga | About the role Tararua Community Services is a trusted and valued part of the Tararua community. Guided by our commitment to Te Oranga Ake – Flourishing Together, we walk alongside individuals and whānau to strengthen wellbeing, connection and resilience. As a Community Support Worker (Whānau) , you’ll work directly with whānau in the Tararua community, providing practical support, advocacy and guidance to help families thrive. Based in Pahiatua, you’ll support whānau to build positive parenting skills, improve home management and living skills, develop healthier lifestyles, and strengthen connections with community services and supports. You’ll work collaboratively with tamariki, parents, caregivers and partner agencies to identify strengths, develop goals and create positive outcomes for whānau. This is rewarding, strengths-based mahi where your ability to build trust, encourage positive change and walk alongside whānau will have a lasting impact. This is a permanent role working 32 hours per week. Ngā pūōka me te wheako | Skills and experience To be successful in this role, you will bring: A relevant qualification that provides a framework for your practice Experience working with whānau, tamariki or community-based services The ability to assess needs, develop support plans and maintain accurate case records A strengths-based approach and genuine passion for supporting whānau wellbeing Confidence working with whānau, community groups and partner agencies An understanding of Te Ao Māori, with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Strong communication, planning and organisational skills A full, clean NZ driver licence Tā mātū e tuku | What we offer We offer a supportive and values-led environment where your mahi truly matters.
