Job Description

Role Overview Financial Control Lead – New Zealand (Fixed‑term, 12‑month parental leave) Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of Finance professionals within a centralised finance function. Provide coordinated delivery of local technical accounting research and positions with wider Finance teams. Review month‑end financial results, analysing provisions, key balance‑sheet accounts and P&L performance. Deliver financial and board reporting and support external audit engagements. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and manage legislative changes. Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and analysis, implementing strong future‑fit financial controls within a new ERP system. Build positive partnering relationships internally and cross‑functionally, identifying and implementing long‑term strategic objectives and promoting innovation. Provide value adding to Company Management and Boards. Qualifications CA qualified with a solid foundation in financial accounting/auditing, preferably from a professional services or large multi‑national background. Dynamic, curious and keen to understand the ‘why’, exploring innovative ideas to amplify value. Strong analytical skills, focused on data integrity and the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insights for subsidiary boards and senior finance managers. Proven ability to inspire and guide others, comfortable establishing leadership relationships with remotely located team members. Experience leading and mentoring Finance teams.
