Job Description
Position Located at the Grey Lynn Office, Auckland, within the Specialist Services team. Salary range: $111,020 to $133,696 per annum, dependent on experience. Team The Kia Manawanui team is part of the Tamaki Makaurau Specialist teams based at the Oranga Tamariki Grey Lynn Office. Developed to meet the needs of complex rangatahi aged 12-17 years throughout wider Tāmaki Makaurau who are challenging for traditional social work sites to engage with, the team works with rangatahi and whānau who have experienced trauma, mental health, severe behavioural presentations, complex living situations and/or offending behaviour. Responsibilities and Model The model involves stabilising rangatahi by accessing options across the continuum of their care; engaging rangatahi, identifying their strengths, needs and risks; planning and developing individual plans with whānau and community; coordinating, implementing and managing plans with rangatahi and other important people in their lives. Qualifications A full, clean, valid driver’s licence. Full registration with New Zealand’s Social Work Registration Board (SWRB). Sound decision making, professionalism, and organisational skills. Ability to manage and support social workers with complex risks, decision making and court work. Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience. Proven engagement, supervisory and leadership skills. Experience or understanding of working within Te Ao Māori or Pasifika frameworks. An ability to build and lead an effective collaborative team. Understanding of children and families with complex needs, and ability to work across systems to bring about positive change. Willingness to try new approaches and adapt to change. Capability to work through heightened situations with composure, resilience and a proactive approach. Excellent time management and organisational skills. A positive outlook and supportive team member. Requirements Experience or understanding complex intergenerational trauma, court writing skills, balanced decision making and de-escalating challenging rangatahi is essential.
