Job Description
Health Research South | Rangahau HAUORA O TETONGA Faculty of Medicine, Dunedin | TE KAUPEKA WHAIORA, ŌTEPOTI Health Research South (HRS) is responsible for the integrity of health research conducted within the joint research environment of the Faculty of Medicine – Dunedin (FoM‑D) and Health NewZealandSouthern. Operating out of FoM‑D’s Office of the Dean, HRS promotes and approves arrangements for undertaking research within this joint environment and also acts as the research office for Health NZ Southern. Role Overview The Research Administrator provides high‑level research administration support to HRS, including financial administration, database entry, and coordination of research committees. The role involves managing the distribution of HRS funds, supporting monthly and quarterly reporting, and assisting with the monitoring and administration of Health NZ Southern research accounts. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the HRS Manager and Oversight Kāhui. Maintain a system of quality improvement and good practice in administrative functions. Manage archiving of completed research projects. Support workshops and events celebrating Health NZ Southern and FoM‑D research activity. Work effectively as a team member with University of Otago and Health NZ Southern research administration staff. Skills and Experience Experience in an administrative environment with computer literacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel. Strong written and spoken communication skills with an interest in health research. Desirable experience in financial administration. Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience desirable. Positive response to change and ability to acquire knowledge of regulations and policies. Position Details Permanent, part‑time (22.5 hours) position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. The appointment range for this role is $63,508 to $68,185 (annual full‑time equivalent). The top of the range is $73,640 (pro‑rata).
