About the Role As a psychologist you will work closely with paediatricians and other team members to improve health outcomes for children and youth. Referrals will be for children, young people and whānau already engaged in paediatric services who are experiencing psychological difficulties related to medical conditions or acute medical presentations. Provide high quality, developmentally informed psychological assessment and intervention to support anxiety/behavioural difficulties and/or other mild/moderate mental health concerns, chronic health conditions, and complex health care needs. Perform neurodevelopmental psychological assessment when required, although this will not be the main component of the role. About the Team/Service/Location The Child and Adolescent Centre is the hub for paediatric outpatient clinics and a range of other child health services, including medical staff, other psychologists, specialty clinical nurses, therapists and support staff. Although child health services are based in New Plymouth, the team works across the region to support service needs and provide equitable services to rural communities. About you Experience or an interest in working with children and youth. Registered (or eligible for registration) with the NZ Psychologists Board. At least 2‑3 years of post‑graduate experience (ideally with neurodevelopmental psychological assessment).
