Job Description

Ko tō tūranga – your role As the DevOps Manager you will lead and evolve DevOps and Quality Assurance capabilities across Bandit, NaaS, xVNE, Matrixx, Launchpad and related platforms. You will be accountable for delivering secure, reliable and high-performing services by embedding modern DevOps practices, automation, quality engineering and continuous improvement into both delivery and operational environments. Leading a multidisciplinary team of DevOps Engineers and QA specialists, you will drive excellence in software delivery, platform reliability and operational performance while acting as the critical link between engineering, operations and platform strategy to achieve outstanding customer and business outcomes. Ko Tō Mahi – What You’ll Do Lead DevOps and QA functions across key platforms, ensuring high availability, reliability and performance of services. Own and continuously enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and DevOps toolsets to support efficient, high-quality software delivery. Establish and embed quality engineering practices, including automated testing, performance testing and release validation processes. Drive incident management excellence through rapid resolution, root cause analysis and the reduction of recurring issues. Improve operational maturity through effective monitoring, observability, alerting and proactive issue detection. Lead 24x7 operational support capabilities, including on‑call practices and service resilience strategies. Develop and implement platform maintenance, upgrade and lifecycle management plans. Partner with architecture and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure and cost‑effective cloud solutions. Champion DevSecOps practices by embedding security, privacy and compliance into platform design and delivery pipelines. Enhance developer experience by streamlining tools, environments and engineering workflows. Lead, mentor and develop DevOps Engineers and QA professionals, fostering a high-performance and growth-focused culture. Ensure alignment with engineering standards, governance frameworks and organisational best practices. Support the successful delivery of technology initiatives to agreed time, cost and quality outcomes. Na Tōu Rourou – What You’ll Bring Proven experience leading DevOps, platform engineering or related technical teams within complex enterprise environments. Strong hands‑on expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automation and modern DevOps methodologies. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, including cloud‑native architectures and services. Strong understanding of software testing practices, automated testing frameworks and quality engineering principles. Deep operational knowledge of incident management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and production support environments. Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities across complex distributed systems. Experience with observability technologies, including monitoring, logging, tracing and performance optimisation. Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, security controls and compliance requirements. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and business audiences. Ability to balance delivery velocity, service reliability, security and cost optimisation objectives. A passion for continuous improvement, automation and engineering excellence.
