# Clinical Engineer at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Otago## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Clinical Engineer****Dunedin****Salary - $79,014 - $110,290 pro rata + Kiwisaver*** **Full-time (40 hours per week) fixed-term opportunity until November 2026*** **Exciting project-based role as part of the new Dunedin Hospital build****About the role**This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of New Zealand's largest healthcare infrastructure projects. As part of the new Dunedin Hospital build, you will support the commissioning, relocation, acceptance testing, asset registration, and technical set-up of medical equipment within the new Outpatient Building.The Outpatient Building project forms part of a broader programme of development within Clinical Engineering, including improvements to asset registration, data quality, lifecycle planning, and coordinated medical equipment management.You will join an experienced and supportive Clinical Engineering team, working in a technically diverse environment across a broad range of medical equipment.**About you**We are seeking a technically focused and mechanically minded individual to join our team as a Clinical Engineer on a fixed-term, project-based basis. This role is worked Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around start and finish times.***The Role:*****Where you fit in**This position would suit someone with strong practical fault-finding skills, a methodical approach, and experience working in a technical service environment. Experience with medical equipment would be advantageous; however, relevant experience gained in other complex technical environments will also be considered.In this role, you will be responsible for:* Supporting the relocation, commissioning, and technical readiness of medical equipment for the new Outpatient Building* Registering new devices and maintaining accurate asset data* Performing planned and corrective maintenance across a broad range of clinical equipment* Conducting electrical safety testing, functional checks, calibration, and performance verification* Maintaining accurate service documentation and asset records* Providing practical technical support to clinicians and equipment usersYour skills will include:* Experience as a technician with well-developed technical and troubleshooting skills in a service environment* Broad knowledge and experience across electronic and mechanical technologies* A minimum Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) qualification, or an international equivalent* Experience in a hospital or medical environment is advantageous* Registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB), or eligibility to obtain registration* A full New Zealand driver's licence**Salary range**This role falls between **Step 1 ($79,014 per annum, pro rata)** and **Step 7 ($110,290 per annum, pro rata)** of the Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.**Working at Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
