Lecturer in Applied Linguistics School of Humanities, Media and Creative Communication, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Palmerston North | Full-time (37.5 hours per week, 1.0 FTE) | Ongoing About the Role The School of Humanities, Media and Creative Communication at Massey University invites applications for a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics, based at the Palmerston North campus. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Applied Linguistics, including TESOL and language teaching and learning Contribute to course design, development and delivery across face‑to‑face, blended, and distance modes Supervise postgraduate students at Master's and PhD level Maintain an active programme of research, including publications and academic engagement Collaborate with colleagues across campuses to strengthen Linguistics and Applied Linguistics programmes Contribute to service, administration, and the broader academic community About You A PhD in Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Language Education, or a related field A developing or established research profile in language education and/or TESOL Experience teaching in a tertiary environment, including postgraduate supervision Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships Experience with, or willingness to use, digital and distance teaching technologies An understanding of, or interest in, the New Zealand education context and multilingual learners About Us Massey University is a world‑leading institution known for research connected to community and industry and for preparing graduates to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Salary and Benefits Salary range: Lecturer $86,113 – $109,901 per annum (depending on experience). Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE), ongoing.
