About the Role Health NZ Taranaki are seeking a motivated part-time physiotherapist to work in the Child and Adolescent Physical Therapy Team. The position is temporary, part-time, 0.5 FTE which is 40 hours a fortnight. The team comprises Occupational Therapists Physiotherapists Seating Therapist Social Worker Speech Language Therapists Therapy Assistant Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists The Child and Adolescent Physical Therapy Team form part of a wider community child health workforce that includes administrators, dieticians, nurses and psychologists. There is also a close connection to paediatricians involved in the care of the children and young people that are referred to the service. About the Team / Service / Location The Child and Adolescent Therapy Team are based at the Child and Adolescent Community Centre (CACC) at Base Hospital but deliver care and services across the region in other health facilities, early childhood and school locations and in client homes. Part of the physiotherapist role is to work closely with the orthotics department in a clinic environment. About you This role is best suited to a physiotherapist with at least 1-2 years experience and experience working with children and young people with disabilities would be an advantage. The role is busy and varied; it requires good organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload of children, often until age 16.
