About the role: Te Oranga Hinengaro Kaupapa Maori Community Mental Health & Addiction Services are seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team in Te Puia Springs Hospital. Providing comprehensive, culturally responsive mental health assessment, treatment, and ongoing support to individuals living within Ngati Porou Oranga boundaries. Deliver whanau-centered care across a range of mental health conditions while working within limited-resource environments and ensuring safe, accessible services for geographically dispersed populations. Skills/Knowledge / Experience Conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments with whaiora accessing MH support Developing and implementing recovery-focused care plans alongside whaiora & whanau Administering and monitoring psychotropic medications and providing therapeutic interventions that are consistent with best practice and evidence-based guidelines Responsible for crisis assessment and intervention, early deterioration, and coordination of referrals to specialist services when required Engaging in health promotion and education aimed at improving health literacy within the community, supporting recovery & resilience Strong autonomous clinical decision making while maintaining effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, primary & secondary care providers, community organizations, and whanau supports Accurate clinical documentation, adherence to professional & legal standards, and commitment to culturally safe practice, particularly in partnership with Maori and other diverse populations Essential Qualifications Registered Health Professional (e.g. Social Worker, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Counsellor or equivalent) Ability to embrace new learnings and share current & existing pukenga (skills, expertise) Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field Mataora Graduate of Te Kurahuna Must hold a current New Zealand Full Drivers Licence What we offer A supportive and collaborative work environment Opportunities for professional development and supervision The chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of whānau across Te Tairawhiti EAP and wellbeing support services Competitive salary and benefits Application To apply, please submit a current Cover Letter and CV with your application, describing your motivation for joining Ngati Porou Oranga and reflecting relevant skills and experience.
