Job Description

Job Overview Oral Health Therapist / Dental Therapist in Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital. Permanent, full‑time (80hours per fortnight, 1FTE). Your work will make a real difference to tamariki, whānau and communities by providing safe, effective, and culturally responsive oral health care. Responsibilities You will provide safe, effective, and culturally responsive oral health care to tamariki, tangata whaiora and their whānau. Working independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver preventive, educative and treatment services that promote positive oral health outcomes. You will manage your own clinical caseload, prioritise care based on need, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that support service development and reduce health inequities. Qualifications & Requirements Qualification and registration as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist. Current Annual Practising Certificate. Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously and within a team. Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe practice and improving outcomes for Māori and priority populations. Team & Service Our Oral Health Service sits within the Specialist and Communities Group and delivers care across Te Matau a Māui Hawkes Bay. You will work in community hubs and mobile services across Napier, Hastings, Central Hawkes Bay and Wairoa. The team values collaboration, cultural safety and continuous improvement.
