Job Description
Property Administration Officer Reference: 6906977 We're looking for an experienced Administration Officer to join our Property and Legal Team based at the South Taranaki District Council Administration Building in Hāwera. This is a part time role, hours of work are 24 per week. About the Role You'll provide administrative support across Council's property and legal portfolio, including maintaining accurate property records and supporting the master property register. Your work will include assisting with leases, licences, renewals, rent reviews, tender processes, rental administration, and legal correspondence. You'll also support information and CCTV requests, ensure records are maintained in line with Council requirements, contribute to health and safety and civil defence responsibilities, and deliver professional, responsive service to both internal and external customers. What you'll bring Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Confidence in managing property and legal documentation, comfortable prioritising competing tasks and working efficiently in a busy environment. Clear, professional communication, adherence to processes and legislative requirements, and provision of a high standard of customer service. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the Legal and Procurement Manager, internal teams, and external stakeholders. About You Proactive, customer-focused administrator who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and building strong working relationships. Ideally holds a relevant property qualification (Level 4 or equivalent) and has at least two years' experience in property administration. Positive, solutions-focused mindset, ability to manage competing priorities, strong commitment to accuracy and process. Demonstrates awareness of tikanga Māori and respects working with others. Experience in local government would be an advantage. Requirements Legally entitled to work in New Zealand, must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. Priority given to applicants currently in New Zealand. Salary and Benefits The full‑time equivalent salary range for this position is between $64,980 pa and $72,200 pa, and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
