Category Manager

The Role We're looking for a commercially minded Category Manager to join our team in Auckland. This is an opportunity to influence how the wine category evolves with leading retailers, using insights to drive growth, unlock opportunities and shape shopper decisions. Reporting to the Head of Category & Insights ANZ + Asia, you'll work closely with Retail Partners, Sales, Marketing and Insights teams across New Zealand and Australia. You'll have genuine ownership of your portfolio, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This role will suit someone who enjoys turning complex data into compelling stories, influencing stakeholders and making a visible commercial impact. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute category growth strategies across wine and key sub‑categories Lead category reviews and strategic planning with major retail customers Analyse shopper, scan and market data to identify trends, risks and opportunities Translate insights into clear and actionable commercial recommendations Partner with Sales teams to strengthen customer conversations and joint business planning Build trusted advisor relationships with key retail partners Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to align category priorities with growth initiatives Influence decision‑making through compelling data‑led storytelling Manage competing priorities across both immediate execution and future planning cycles What We're Looking For Proven experience in Category Management within FMCG, liquor or a closely related consumer goods environment Strong analytical capability with experience using category, shopper or scan data Commercially astute and able to identify the "why" behind the numbers Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills Confidence presenting insights and recommendations to both internal and external audiences Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information Experience working with major grocery or liquor retailers will be highly regarded Why Join Us Join New Zealand's leading wine business with a portfolio of iconic brands Shape the future direction of an evolving and highly dynamic category Influence major retail partners and make a measurable commercial impact High visibility role with exposure across New Zealand, Australia and Asia Genuine autonomy and ownership of your category portfolio Collaborative, high-performing team culture Opportunity to challenge traditional category thinking and drive innovation Annual wine allowance and product benefits Career development within a global organisation #J-18808-Ljbffr
