About the Role As a Pre-Analytical Technician, your primary responsibility will be the collection of laboratory specimens (Phlebotomy). You may also assist with data entry and specimen preparation for testing. You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment to deliver your mandala, contributing to the success of our busy laboratory. This 0.4 FTE role is for 3-4 mornings per week and will include weekend shifts, so if you think this position is a good fit for you and you would be a good fit for our department we would love to hear from you. Key responsibilities Deliver a high-quality, timely service with a strong attention to detail. Maintain a high level of accuracy in specimen collection and data entry. Communicate empathetically and professionally with patients and colleagues. Qualifications Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council is preferred, but not required; full training will be provided. Healthcare or customer service experience is an advantage. About the Service Our Phlebotomy service provides high standards in specimen collection and processing including venepuncture, urine and swab collection, breath testing, and venesection. We support all hospital departments, including NICU and outpatient clinics, and offer training across the region, including infection control practices. About you The ideal candidate will: Be able to follow instructions and established procedures accurately. Understand and respond to patient needs with empathy. Maintain a moderate level of fitness for hospital-wide mobility. Work effectively independently and within a team. Have Phlebotomy or healthcare experience (preferred).
