Lumsden is an affordable rural town located at the crossroads between Queenstown, Te Anau, Invercargill and Gore often described as 'The Hub of Northern Southland'. Lumsden School itself lies at the heart of the local community and enjoys good relations with the town’s Playcentre and Northern Southland College which are both located within a short walking distance. The attractive school building boasts five modern classrooms and a well resourced library set amid 2.4 hectares of well maintained grounds that include the Ōreti Bike Park. The school's vision of 'Learning for Life' and values "We are kind, we always try our best" are well embedded in the school's culture. There is an experienced and dedicated team and the Principal is supported by the community and school board which fund the Principal role to be fully released from teaching. We are seeking a collaborative, motivating and strategic leader with the ability to develop high trust relationships and raise student achievement levels.
