Job Description
Fieldmaxx Produce Ltd is a well-established and fast-growing horticulture business in Auckland. We are currently seeking two dedicated Machine Operators. The ideal candidate should be able to drive modern farming tractors and other machinery. Position: Machine Operator Hourly Rate: $30 - 32 per hour depending on experience Maximum Hours: Up to 70 per week during peak seasons Location: Auckland Responsibilities Operate a range of modern agricultural tractors and heavy farm machinery with a high level of precision and efficiency. Perform advanced tractor operations including towing, cultivating, spraying, mowing, and handling attachments. Safely operate and control tractor mounted and trailed implements such as sprayers, mulchers, trailers, and other equipment. Conduct detailed pre‑start, operational, and shutdown inspections to ensure machinery is functioning safely and efficiently. Monitor and maintain machinery performance by checking hydraulic systems, engine condition, fluid levels, and tyre pressure. Carry out routine servicing and minor mechanical repairs to tractors and equipment to minimize downtime. Diagnose mechanical issues and report faults promptly, coordinating with maintenance teams for timely repairs. Ensure all machinery is operated in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, company procedures, and health & safety regulations. Calibrate and adjust machinery settings to suit different sites and operational requirements. Handle and transport farm materials using tractors, including loading, towing, and positioning equipment safely on‑site. Maintain accurate operational records, including machinery logs, servicing reports, and daily checklists. Work efficiently across various farm environments, adapting machinery use to weather conditions and terrain. Support overall farm productivity by ensuring machinery availability, reliability, and safe operation at all times. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment around all machinery and equipment. Requirements Valid NZ Class 1 Driver Licence (or overseas equivalent). 2 year experience or level 4 qualification. Must pass drug and alcohol testing. Flexibility to work day/night shifts, weekends Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
