About the role Our dedicated kitchen team at our 7 St Vincent Village in Remuera are looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join them on a full-time basis, cooking delicious meals for our Independent Living and Care home residents. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will be a proven, experienced and reliable Chef. This role is working Tuesday to Friday 11am to 7.30pm = 32 hours per week. There may also be the opportunity to pick up additional shifts if someone is away, so flexibilty is essential. Duties Include: Creating delicious food in a restaurant environment Coordinating the kitchen to ensure it operates effortlessly. Maintaining a high standard of food with consistent portion sizes and outstanding presentation. Nutritional standards or dietary requirements are always actively addressed in special menu design. Using your leadership skills to support our kitchen team. About you Delivering an outstanding service to our residents, you will have empathy for the older person; excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate in a clear fashion; and ensuring that the job is done to the highest standards. Skills & Experience Required Food industry qualification Proven experience in a similar role – previous Aged Care experience would be an advantage Commercial kitchen and or café experience preferred. Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation.
