Position Highlights Full‑time, on‑site position in Nelson, NewZealand offering competitive hourly rates, generous overtime allowances, and a minimum of 40hours per week. About the Job You will work as a professional tradesperson providing hands‑on, site‑based maintenance expertise to our major customers. Responsibilities include: Maintaining and troubleshooting machinery, including alignments, bearings, seals, gearboxes, transmissions, pumps, valves and pipe systems. Providing both breakdown and preventative maintenance on industrial systems. Diagnosing faults, interpreting engineering drawings, equipment manuals and operating instructions. Implementing improvements to processing plant and equipment. About You Qualified and experienced mechanical engineer or technician with: 5years or more professional, hands‑on maintenance experience across all ship or industrial systems. Trade qualification in a mechanical engineering field – preferably marine engineering. Experience with industrial maintenance systems (breakdown and preventative). Strong diagnostic, fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals and operating instructions. Proficiency as a welder – TIG, aluminium, stainless‑steel (including purge & pressure). Self‑motivated, proactive, versatile, safety‑conscious and able to work independently and as part of a small team. Pay Highly competitive hourly rates with generous overtime allowances.
