Lead React Developer (team mentoring/leading)

Permanent Lead React Developer Our client is a well‑established design and innovation company awarded the Great Place to Work certification. The role is based in Auckland with flexible hybrid working arrangements. Responsibilities Report to the Architect and Technology Director, overseeing three squads that include client and internal members. Lead and mentor frontend developers across multiple squads, fostering collaboration between client and internal teams. Build robust, performant, and accessible web applications, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement technically sound solutions. Advocate best practices for quality and security, help evolve engineering standards, and mentor junior developers. Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code across the web stack. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement. Qualifications 10+ years of experience as a lead or senior developer, preferably with team‑leading experience. Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Proficiency in React web development (React 18+, React Router, Context API, hooks). Familiarity with React Native and Next.js is a plus. Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful or Contentstack (preferred). Exposure to automated testing tools such as Playwright. Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and Git for version control and collaborative workflows. Solid understanding of clean, scalable, maintainable code practices.
