Traffic Management Operative (TMO) Keep New Zealand Moving Safely We're looking for reliable and safety-focused Traffic Management Operatives (TMOs) to join our client's growing team. If you enjoy working outdoors, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in keeping road users and work crews safe, this is a fantastic opportunity to build a long‑term career in traffic management. You’ll be working on a variety of civil, roading, and infrastructure projects, helping set up and maintain safe work zones while working alongside experienced traffic management teams. Typical TMO duties include setting up and removing traffic management sites, directing traffic, and ensuring work sites comply with approved traffic management plans. What You'll Be Doing Set up, monitor, and pack down temporary traffic management sites. Install and remove cones, signs, barriers, and other traffic control equipment. Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones. Carry out Stop/Go operations when required. Work closely with STMS personnel and site crews. Complete safety checks and report any hazards or incidents. Maintain a high standard of health and safety at all times. What We're Looking For Current TMO qualification (or TTM equivalent). Full Class 1 Driver Licence. Previous traffic management experience preferred. Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious. Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
