About the Role We are looking for an experienced maintenance technician to operate and maintain mechanical systems and HVAC services at Tauranga Hospital. This is a permanent full-time opportunity. Salary will be based on skills and experience and will fall within Steps 37 of the Group 2 pay scale. Additional allowances apply for formal on-call duties and overtime. This role is covered by the Etū collective agreement. Responsibilities Operating, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment Understand what plumbing duties can or cannot be undertaken by non-qualified tradesmen Act as lead technician managing under sink drinking water units Highly technical management of infrastructure systems and ancillary equipment Identifying maintenance risks on equipment Providing 24‑hour call out response when on call About the Team/Service/Location Reporting to the Site Engineer Building Services, you will be an integral member of the Facilities and Business Operations Team. About you Mandatory Requirement: Applicants must hold recognised boiler and medical gas qualifications or be willing and able to obtain these within 12 months of appointment. Skills and experience NZ Trade Certificate of similar from a mechanical trade Plant and equipment operation and maintenance experience including boilers, compressors, pumps, medical gas pipeline systems, and building management systems Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
