Commitment to Fair Pay through Mind the Gap and the Pacific Pay Gap Inquiry About The Role We're looking for a commercially focused Business Controller – Star Operations & Performance to partner with Star Hospitality leaders and help drive venue performance across our portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering financial insights, cost and labour analysis, forecasting, and operational reporting that supports better business decisions and improved profitability. Reporting to the Business Control Manager – Star Hospitality, you'll play a key role in influencing operational outcomes, identifying improvement opportunities, and strengthening financial capability across the business. What You'll Be Doing Provide financial analysis and reporting across labour, overheads, controllable costs, and venue profitability. Partner with operational leaders to deliver insights that support commercial and operational decision-making. Lead cost performance reviews and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability. Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. Analyse venue-level performance and recommend actions to improve results. Build strong relationships with venue managers and operational leaders, improving financial understanding across the business. Support governance, risk management, and financial control processes. Contribute to operational improvement projects, business cases, and cost optimisation initiatives. What You'll Bring Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. CA/CPA qualification is advantageous. 5+ years' experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business partnering, cost control, or hospitality/retail finance. Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to turn data into practical business insights. Experience working with operational stakeholders and influencing business decisions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Advanced Excel skills and experience with systems such as SAP, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
