Job Description
Build your cloud skills in a practical, hands‑on role. We’re looking for an Intermediate Cloud Platform Engineer to support the delivery and day‑to‑day operation of our cloud platform. This is a junior‑to‑intermediate position, suited to someone who’s started their cloud journey and wants to keep developing in a structured, supportive environment. You’ll work closely with the Cloud Platform Lead and engineering teams to implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using established patterns and automation, helping ensure our environments are secure, reliable, and cost-effective. This role is focused on hands‑on delivery and support of our Azure environment: Support the build and day‑to‑day operation of our Azure cloud platform Use Terraform to implement and maintain infrastructure (following established patterns) Work with shared modules, pipelines, and platform standards Help monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents Follow practices across security, networking, and identity Apply cost‑aware practices when provisioning resources Support engineering teams using the cloud platform Continue building your cloud and Terraform capability About you 1–3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Azure Practical experience using Terraform (writing, modifying, troubleshooting) Understanding of core cloud concepts (compute, networking, storage, identity) Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation principles Exposure to CI/CD pipelines Experience working in a team engineering environment Willingness to follow established standards, ask questions and remain curious Basic understanding of cloud security and cost management Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (i.e. Computer Science) Be part of a proud New Zealand business on a mission to become the country’s favourite finance company Auckland or Dunedin based, with strong roots in Dunedin and flexibility across both locations Join a collaborative, down‑to‑earth team where people enjoy working together and take pride in what they do Work in a culture that values teamwork, accountability, and delivering on commitments Celebrate success together Grow your career with ongoing development, coaching, and mentorship Candidates must possess a verified form of photo identification and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
