Mental Health Support Worker – Te Whare Oranga Tangata o Whakaue In‑patient Unit Permanent, full‑time and part‑time positions available. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our passionate and multi‑disciplinary team at Lakes Mental Health & Addiction in‑patient unit. This position will work alongside our registered nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care. Responsibilities: Ensure the ward is clean, tidy and safe for staff and tangata whaiora, including housekeeping duties. Maintain appropriate stock levels. Assist nursing staff with tangata whaiora cares and management, including when needed personal cares. Abilities and qualities: Relate effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures. About you Qualifications and experience: Previous experience in a support worker or health care assistant role, ideally in an inpatient mental health setting. Ability to support tangata whaiora with personal cares such as showering, toileting, dressing and other activities of daily living. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and physically demanding environment. Ability to manage and prioritise work tasks. Ability to relate with tangata whaiora & whanau from all cultures & backgrounds.
