Registered Nurses - Flex Care

About the Role We are seeking Registered Nurses to support a 6‑month Winter Flex initiative, working in the Flex Care Waipapa Ward and Discharge Lounge. The area will be temporarily repurposed as an inpatient ward to increase bed capacity. Your role will support patient flow, enable timely movement from the Emergency Department to inpatient beds, and ensure delivery of safe, high‑quality care. You will be caring for acute medical patients and those preparing to leave hospital. About the Service Flex Care Waipapa consolidates medical patients into cohesive care streams, improving operational efficiency and reducing pressure on the Emergency Department. You will be part of a collaborative, supportive team focused on responsive, patient‑centred care during a critical period for the organisation. Shift Schedule 6‑Month Fixed Term Full‑time and Part‑time positions available Shifts Monday to Sunday: Morning, Afternoon, and Night About You Medical or Surgical experience is essential Availability to work rotating roster shifts across Monday to Sunday Proven clinical assessment and prioritisation skills Excellent time management and ability to work within a team Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of people Flexible and adaptable – comfortable working in a dynamic, high‑demand environment Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) EEO Statement Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
