Following this, training will continue through standard term time shadowing. Initial training will be completed alongside our lifeguard intake, with specialisation occurring thereafter. Training will be undertaken in a condensed programme. We have a large fun team, who get to work with the community every day providing high quality aquatic and recreational services to the city. Our facilities are vibrant, action-oriented environments - a hub of activity where visitors can play, learn to swim, go to fitness classes, train, and take part in sporting events. About the role The role will include the following key responsibilities: Delivering high-quality aquatic education programmes to customers of varying age groups and levels Following lesson plans with individualised instruction and progressions to meet the needs of your students Engaging with and creating a fun and supportive environment Assessing and providing feedback Liaising with parents of children About you We are seeking candidates who: Are passionate to work with our diverse community whilst making a difference Confident in and around water Have experience and/or knowledge of aquatics education and aquatic industry A willingness to learn and contribute to a wider team. If you do have a recognised (swim) instructor qualification or previous experience working with children that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. To be eligible you need: Must be 16 years old or older The right to work in New Zealand To be medically fit for employment All candidates are required to complete a criminal history check, under the Vulnerable Children's Act before commencement of employment.
