You can find more about ACC and the work we do here. About the role – Mō te tūranga mahi We are recruiting for Payments Assessors, Level 1 with a set start date of Monday 14 September 2026. Multiple positions are available at our Hamilton and Dunedin offices. As a Payments Assessor, you will calculate and pay weekly compensation to clients recovering from injuries. You will also engage in difficult conversations with clients regarding over-payments. While we train you on how to handle these calls and our leaders will support you where possible, it is important that you are comfortable having these types of conversations. This fast‑paced role offers opportunities to grow and develop your skills, increasing expertise across several payments tasks and learning more complex work types. Role type: permanent, based in Dunedin and Hamilton. About you – Mōu Sound decision making – ability to review a wide range of information, use legislation, review risks, and inform good decision making. Customer focussed – confident on the phone, quick at building rapport and able to take ownership of resolving problems for our clients. Strong communicators – able to explain complex information in simple ways. Detail oriented – able to multitask and prioritise your work in a busy and fast‑paced environment. Adaptable – comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, shifting priorities and work types at short notice as business needs evolve. Tech‑savvy – confident navigating multiple systems, typing while talking on the phone, and using technology.
