# Senior Regulatory Advisor at Education Review Office, Auckland## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Ko mātou | About us** We are the Education Review Office | Te Tari Arotake Mātauranga (ERO), the New Zealand government's external evaluation agency that informs and facilitates improvement in schools/kura and early learning services. We work to build a high performing equitable education system and believe equity and excellence in outcomes is possible for all learners when the mahi centres on *Ko te tamaiti te pūtake o te kaupapa -*the child, the heart of the matter. **Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role** In this role you will provide expert advice and lead or contribute to regulatory activity across licensing, certification, complaints, incidents and enforcement. You will work across complex and sometimes sensitive matters, ensuring decisions are robust, proportionate and well-evidenced. Key aspects of the role include: * Providing high-quality advice and recommendations on complex or contentious regulatory matters* Assessing complaints, incidents and licensing issues and determining appropriate responses* Leading or contributing to investigations of non-compliance, including analysing evidence and applying regulatory tools* Partnering closely with review, licensing and legal teams to support joined-up regulatory activity* Developing guidance, tools and processes to support consistency and continuous improvement* Communicating decisions and outcomes clearly to stakeholdersThis is a varied and impactful role where your judgement, analysis and ability to navigate complexity will directly contribute to fair, consistent and evidence-based regulatory decisions. **Mōhou ake | About you** We are looking for someone who can operate with confidence in a complex regulatory environment and bring strong professional judgement to decision-making.
