Legal Assistant (Fixed Term)

About the role We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Assistant to join our Property & Commercial team in Whakatāne on a six-month fixed‑term contract. This is a key role within our busy and high‑performing team. You will provide essential support to Solicitors, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the practice. Your responsibilities will include Preparing legal documentation, onboarding clients, completing customer due diligence and managing file administration Managing client communications and coordinating appointments to ensure an excellent client experience Handling trust account payments and receipts Billing, client maintenance and general administrative support Managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment Collaborating with team members to support workflow efficiency Providing reception support where required, including answering phones, welcoming clients, and coordinating diaries and meetings About you You are an experienced Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and takes pride in delivering high‑quality work. You enjoy building relationships, staying organised, and supporting others to succeed.
