Fitter & Turner - Napier

Location: Napier Pay Rate: up to $49ph Employment Type: Full-time, permanent Overtime & weekend work available Our client is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Fitter & Turner to join their specialist engineering and maintenance team. This role suits a confident tradesperson who enjoys varied, hands‑on work and can operate independently both in the workshop and on client sites. About the Role You’ll be working primarily on large, one‑off or small‑batch items , not high‑volume production work. The role includes both workshop machining and on‑site maintenance and breakdown support. Key Responsibilities Manual machining using lathes and mills Calculating and applying correct speeds and feeds Maintenance, repair, and breakdown work On‑site work following instructions and solving problems independently Working with bearings, fits, tolerances, and general mechanical assemblies Occasional work at height and in confined spaces Participation in overtime and weekend breakdown coverage What We’re Looking For Strong experience with manual lathes and mills Solid understanding of speeds, feeds, tolerances, and fits Proven maintenance experience (strongly preferred) Confident working independently without close supervision Full NZ driver's licence (ability to drive company vehicles) Comfortable working at heights; confined space experience preferred Own full set of basic hand and battery tools (required on day one) What’s On Offer Competitive hourly rate ($49/hr) Diverse and interesting work across workshop and site‑based projects Ongoing overtime and weekend work opportunities Training provided for working at heights and confined spaces A role suited to experienced tradespeople who take pride in their craft If you're an experienced Fitter Turner looking for challenging, varied work with a respected engineering service company, we'd love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
