We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) who is looking to step up to Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) level to advance thrombosis care within our Haematology service. This is an exciting opportunity to work at an advanced practice level within a dedicated thrombosis CNS team, providing expert clinical leadership, coordinating care across the continuum, and improving outcomes for patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE) often requiring complex case management. About the Role As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Thrombosis, you will: Provide specialist clinical advice and management for patients with venous thrombosis Coordinate and deliver safe, timely, evidence-based care Work closely with haematologists and multidisciplinary teams in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up Share responsibility across the CNS team to ensure service continuity and care coordination Support and mentor staff through education, coaching and role‑modeling Contribute to quality improvement, research, and service development initiatives Promote equitable outcomes and culturally safe care, including commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi This role is 0.5 FTE based across North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals and reports to the Operations Manager Haematology. There is some flexibility in how the 0.5 FTE hours are distributed i.e. full days alternating 2/3 days per week or spread over 4 days per week Tuesday‑Friday (i.e. 0900hr 1430hrs). About you You are an experienced nurse with a passion for advanced practice, teamwork, and improving patient outcomes.
