You'll work across T+T disciplines and directly with clients, while taking a hands‑on role in developing the engineers around you - the kind of position where you can genuinely leave your mark on both the team and the work. Based in Wellington, you'll contribute to a strong pipeline of meaningful work including major regional infrastructure programmes and local government projects, with the opportunity to shape future opportunities for the team and wider business. In this role you will: Lead the technical delivery of transport and land development infrastructure projects — from road safety auditing through to the design of major transport networks Work across a diverse range of project environments including alliances, design‑build, and traditional consultancy delivery Provide technical direction and mentoring to intermediate and graduate engineers, helping to grow capability within the team Develop and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients, contributing to business development and growth Collaborate across disciplines, bringing a transport lens to wider infrastructure, urban development, water, energy, and land use projects Contribute to the team's Wellington market presence and support the development of new client relationships and opportunities 10+ years' demonstrable experience in high‑quality technical delivery of traffic and transport engineering projects Proven ability to work with and across a wide range of disciplines Proficiency in relevant industry tools and software, including a design package (e.g. OpenRoads, Autodesk suite), traffic modelling software (e.g. SIDRA), and Safe System Assessments Strong knowledge and application of relevant New Zealand design standards Relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a professional institute Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build a strong team ethos and deliver high‑quality client outcomes Evidence of business development capability and client relationship management A proactive, solutions‑focused attitude and genuine passion for contributing to sustainable and resilient communities We'll back your growth A diverse range of complex, meaningful, and high‑profile projects A supportive, solutions‑focused design culture where your leadership is valued Opportunities to broaden your skillset across multiple disciplines and sectors Mentoring, formal training, and ongoing professional development support A workplace where your achievements are recognised and celebrated Exposure to large‑scale alliance projects as well as locally focused community initiatives A highly supportive team environment where you are encouraged to shape your own career path Professional memberships and continuing education support Flexible working culture, including part‑time options and the ability to purchase extra leave Internal training and mentoring programmes $750 annual wellbeing allowance and wellbeing programme Active social club, free fruit, and morning teas (we take morning tea seriously at T+T!)
