Technician - Lighting and Staging

Title: Technician - Lighting and Staging Date: 6 Jul 2026 Location: Central Auckland, NZ, 1010 Role Overview We are looking for Casual Technicians to join our Lighting & Staging team in our Technical Productions department. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Setting up and packing down lighting, rigging, and staging equipment across various venues. Supporting live events such as concerts, musical productions, dance productions, conferences, and large-scale civic events. Collaborating with a skilled team of technicians to ensure events are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standard. Engaging with clients, artists, and event organisers to ensure all technical requirements are met and expectations exceeded. Maintaining and caring for technical equipment and infrastructure. Qualifications A qualification in Entertainment Technology or a related field (e.g., MAINZ, SAE, Unitec, NZ Arts School) would be advantageous. Experience in the live event or performing arts industry. Understanding of theatre terminology, lighting systems, rigging, and staging practices. Excellent teamwork, time management, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Commitment to health and safety and delivering exceptional client service. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varied hours as required. Current driver’s licence.
