LOOKING FOR The successful applicant will be passionate about teaching and committed to delivering high‑quality education in environmental management or a related discipline. You will play a vital role in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment while contributing to programme delivery, development, and student success. A key focus of this role is ensuring the highest standards of teaching, effective administration, and strong collaboration with the Programme Manager. A current full New Zealand driver’s licence is required, as the role includes supporting ākonga in offsite and field‑based learning activities. Ideally you will have: Relevant qualification in Environmental Management, or a related discipline (Environmental Science, Earth Science, Ecology, Geography, etc.) Industry experience and a commitment to high standards Knowledge in research techniques, ideally both quantitative and qualitative Previous teaching or facilitation experience is desirable but not essential KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality teaching sessions aligned with curriculum requirements Create an effective and engaging learning environment that supports positive student outcomes Assess and moderate student work in accordance with SIT and NZQA requirements Provide timely and constructive feedback to ākonga Support student selection, admission processes, and learner success Maintain accurate academic and administrative records Participate in programme development, review, and continuous improvement activities Contribute to research, professional development, and SIT’s academic objectives Participate in marketing and promotional activities such as open days and career events Support student wellbeing through inclusive, safe, and culturally responsive practices Engage in offsite learning activities, including fieldwork where required WHY JOIN US?
