Job Description
About the Role Hillmorton Hospital, Christchurch – Fixed‑term, Part‑time 0.9 FTE position covering parental leave until Sep2027. We are looking for a NewZealand Registered Psychologist with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or Child and Family Psychology. The CAF South (Child, Adolescent & Family Mental Health Service) – South Community & Outreach Team provides assessment and treatment of young people up to 18years old who present with serious mental health problems, and their family/whānau. This is challenging and demanding work within a supportive team to provide focussed interventions to improve functioning and enable transition to community supports. The role is based at Hillmorton Hospital and covers Selwyn and Mid‑Canterbury, with some travel required. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, psychometric testing, and therapeutic interventions individually or in groups as part of this specialist service and multidisciplinary team. Develop and regularly review a job plan and caseload with the Clinical Manager. Work collaboratively with young people, family/whānau, community and statutory organisations. Skills and Experience Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with young people, family/whānau, community and statutory organisations. Great organisational and time‑management skills to work within a generic case‑management model. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. NewZealand Registered Psychologist with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or Child and Family Psychology (essential). Experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
