Mō te tūnga | About the role Permanent, full‑time position available. Role will be based at our Papanui Site. Do you want to make a difference to New Zealand’s tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and communities within Sydenham? Come and join our great, supportive, and fun team and grow your administration experience to new heights with our team as we provide statutory care and protection services. Be responsible for administration needs of Social Work kaimahi including assistance with financial plans, data collection and scheduling. Liaise with vendors, casual staff, and other stakeholders. Work with various cultural groups and people from different backgrounds. Book rooms, answer phones, and assist on the reception desk. Organise welcomes/whakatau for newcomers and whānau as and when required. Deal with critical scenarios in a calm, professional manner. Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring Full clean New Zealand driver’s licence is required (historic convictions may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis). Support the team with all aspects of Health and Safety. Have strong computer and IT knowledge. Admin skills such as typing, reporting, responding to site needs. Cultural awareness and an understanding of Tikanga Māori principles. A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Strong time management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience. Understanding and appreciation of cross‑cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples’ culture.
