Academic Staff Member - Mechanical Engineering Listed 2 days Ago Education Position Title: Academic Staff Member Mechanical Engineering Team: Academic Delivery and Development Position Type: Fixed term, part time (16 hours per week) This role involves teaching on our New Zealand in Engineering (Mechanical strand) programme, supporting rangatahi to succeed through engaging, industry-aligned learning. You’ll deliver classroom teaching, tutor ākonga, update learning resources, assess work, and support recruitment and wellbeing. You’ll join a supportive vocational teaching team dedicated to empowering young learners across the rohe. Delivery of New Zealand Diploma in Engineering Programme (Mechanical and common courses). Courses include but not limited to Engineering mathematics, Mechanical materials, Engineering Cad (solid works), Thermodynamics, Manufacturing processes and Production Providing leadership in student management Developing, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource material Monitoring student progress and results providing timely and accurate advice and support as required Planning and timetabling for the programme as well as assisting with recruitment Actively promoting and applying Toi Ohomai Health & Safety policies You bring: A National qualification in Mechanical Engineering (level 6 and above) A minimal of 5 years industry experience In depth experience and knowledge of the New Zealand Industry Any regulatory memberships etc that are required Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is the largest vocational education provider in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.
