Quality Manager

Marlborough Roads is a joint venture between HEB Construction and Fulton Hogan, responsible for delivering the Integrated Delivery Contract maintaining Marlborough’s roading network. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality and Assurance function within the Marlborough Roads IDC . Reporting to the Contract Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring contract performance, compliance, and quality outcomes are consistently achieved. You will drive quality systems, influence operational performance, and foster a strong culture of continuous improvement across the alliance environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and embed the quality and assurance framework across all IDC activities Ensure compliance with contract specifications, technical standards, and NZTA requirements Oversee quality performance reporting, including KPIs, trends, and assurance outcomes Manage audits, inspections, verification activities, and defect resolution processes Maintain quality systems, documentation, and audit readiness Analyse performance data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives Support quality aspects of subcontractor and supplier management Partner closely with operational teams to strengthen quality delivery and outcomes Maintain integrity of asset data and inspection processes (RAMM/AWM systems) Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and alliance partners Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team (Inspectors, Quality Engineer, specialists) About You You are an experienced quality leader with a strong background in infrastructure, maintenance, or construction environments. You bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and are confident working within a performance-based contract model. You will also bring Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or similar Proven experience managing quality systems, audits, and assurance frameworks Strong understanding of NZTA, NOC, or IDC contract environments (highly regarded) Experience in asset inspection, defect management, and performance monitoring Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret and act on performance data Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to develop and influence teams A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement What We Offer At HEB, we recognise that our people are key to our success.
